Yair Lapid speaks outrageous nonsense

Peace is not possible with Hamas...but it can be achieved easily with Fatah, and the only thing stopping it is an Israeli coalition. Anybody who takes the trouble to learn about the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority, its culture, media, education, what it systematically teaches its children about the state of Israel and about Jews--anyone who can find in himself the energies to take out an email subscription to Palestinian Media Watch--knows that this is utter nonsense. Lapid propounds, to Time Magazine, the Oslo myth that has already cost 1500 Israeli lives and many thousands more wounded. He was never to be trusted. Difficult days ahead.

I have been wondering whether Lapid would choose the very difficult position of Treasury Minister or the more entertaining role of Foreign Affairs. This interview shows Lapid may be angling for the Foreign Affairs Ministry. This interview gives the line the world wants to hear from Israel. Since Israel and Fatah are so far apart on minimal conditions for an agreement this is probably a 'line' which even if leads to negotiations is unlikely to lead to any agreement.
