I grew up near Albany, NY, and moved to Israel 24 years ago. I lived mostly in the Jerusalem area and moved to Tel Aviv in 2006. For a long time I was mainly a fiction writer, but I would occasionally contribute articles on Israel/politics to American Jewish magazines, and I wrote many book reviews and occasional op-eds for the Jerusalem Post. In 2003, after hearing from maybe the 20th literary agency that "your novel combines the best virtues of Tolstoy, Cervantes, Dickens, and Kafka and is about the best thing we've ever read--but we don't see a market for it," I decided to switch the focus to the journalistic writing. Since then I've been writing especially for FrontPageMagazine and lately also for Pajamas Media. I've also been appearing sometimes on the American Spectator, ynet, and the Jewish Press. In addition, I'm a self-taught pianist--my strongest suit is probably blues, which might not surprise readers of my articles. Here's an example of my piano playing, and I hope to add more in the not-distant future: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSAsMt5k0qY
